Introduction to Blackmagic Design's ATEM Mini

Blackmagic Design's ATEM Mini is designed for live streaming to multiple devices online and for creative business presentations via Skype or Zoom, Or implement live streaming on YouTube. It provides a live production switcher with 4 video inputs and 2 3.5mm audio inputs with a control panel for game consoles, live streaming or HD video recorders. 4 HDMI inputs are available on the back of the case, as well as an HDMI output for an external monitor.

The control panel features easy-to-view backlit control buttons for selecting camera inputs, control transitions, keying, settings and DVE. ATEM Mini features upstream and downstream keyers, an advanced chroma keyer, two linear/luminance keyers, a DVE transition keyer, a pattern generator and two color generators. The media player also supports fill and key images, and supports up to 20 still images in PNG, TGA, BMP, JPEG and TIFF formats. HDMI output supports at least 1366 x 768 resolution for monitoring. It also supports the ATEM software control panel via Ethernet and supports control and configuration with the ATEM Mini.

Transition function:

Cut: When you press the Cut button, ATEM immediately changes from the current program source to the preview source. Cutting can be performed by selecting the source directly or by pressing the cut button to switch to the next source.
Blending: Mixing or dissolving gradually transitions from one source to another by creating a smooth blend. You can set custom times to blend transitions manually.
DIP: Like a blend-in transition, a dip transition is a progressive blend that includes a solid color, a graphic, or another clip between two video sources. Black or white saturation between sources is most common, or you can use logos or sponsor graphics.
Wipe: Built-in wipe patterns include circles, diamonds, squares, etc. Shapes and patterns can be inverted or softened, and you can even have custom colored borders.
DVE: With the powerful built-in Digital Video Effects Processor (DVE), you can push, rotate, squeeze or pull live video from one camera with incredible built-in transitions. DVE conversions can be flipped and reversed, giving you more conversion options.

Mixing functions:

The built-in audio mixer lets you control cameras and external audio with precise level and balance adjustments on all six available audio inputs and two channels. The mixer features selectable on/off/audio follow video for each channel, plus it features individual gain controls, level and peak metering for each channel, as well as new Fairlight audio enhancements such as compressors, gates, Limiter, six-band EQ and master gain control.

Play function:

Eliminate external character generators by storing up to 20 broadcast-quality RGBA graphics files in the media pool. A media player will appear as the switcher's input source. You can transition to a full-screen video graphic, or feed it into a keyer to overlay video. Supports popular image formats such as PNG, TGA, BMP, GIF, JPEG and TIFF.
